Old Man bikes to Wildwood

That's right. Your tired, out of shape, 47 year old coach fulfilled a goal of his: ride a bicycle to the shore. The journey, from Camden County College to Wildwood went over 70 miles and took about 7 hours. Making the trek a little tougher was the bike I rode, a mountain bike which is not the best way to peddle long distances.

Well, I'm a little tired and sore, but also feel pretty good. If anything, my leg muscles are stronger than they have been in years. My next step is to start the workout program I gave out at the end of school year. I will do my best to work the program, I hope you will to. Please pray for safety and good health for all who are training over the summer. Have fun!

Welcome and Worksheet

To the super CC runners of BHS:

This account is my way to making sure updates get to you.

If you have any questions or concerns about the workout sheet, please let me know. Our team is breaking new grounds for BHS; we're taking on the public schools in dual meets. You all did well last year, but we spent the first half of the season just getting to complete a 5K with some kind of confidence. The purpose of the workouts is to have you ready to run a 5K by the first day of practice, therefore be ready to take on any challenge. Most of the workouts are just an extended warmup with stretching after the run. The pushups and curlups are to build muscular strength for speed. If it is any incentive, I will be doing the workout myself. If a fat old man can do it, so can you.

Day 1 for workouts is Monday, June 23.

First day of practice is Monday, August 18, 7pm at Haddon Lake Park. We may do two Ocean City runs depending on whether the team is ready to run a 5K on the first practice. We are definitely scheduled for Thursday, August 28.

As I said before, we did well last year. However, I believe you all have the ability to do great things. How many meets we will win, I don't know. But I believe you are going have the schools in Camden County taking notice.

See you in August!

Coach W.
